Final Day of Free Digital Downloads

Today is the final day of the FREE digital downloads and 50% off digital kits.

Our digital scrapbooking and crafting software is fantastic.  And the newest version, My Digital Studio 2, is outstanding!  The software is easy to use and so versatile.  I use it to create all kinds of graphics from scrapbooks to calendars to digital images for my blog and website.  For instance this weekend I used it to create the November and December calendars for my daughter.  These are super simple but have become a great way for us to keep track of her reading at home and make sure that we are reading most every day.  These hang in her room and when she does some reading we put a star sticker on that day.  When she finishes a book she gets to put a smiley face sticker on that day and we write down the title and author of the book.  This way we track not only that she’s reading regularly but have a record of what she has read.  Anyway just a fun way to use MDS.  With the new calendar feature in MDS2 it’s super easy for me to duplicate these pages and then adjust them to the correct days for the month I’m designing.  Add a few fun stamp images and viola!  There is so much more I could do to these pages but for now simple works for this project.  Here’s my November and December pages.

While I’m sure it’s hard to tell on the pictures above I wanted to note that with the newest version of MDS you can now color each stamp image as if you were using markers so you can have multiple colors on one stamp image.  My daughter helped me choose the colors for the red ornament adding 2 different greens to the dots and stripes.  Here’s what it looks like up close.  I love that we can do this technique now in our digital designing!

So this is just one project I’ve been working on with my digital designing software.  The great thing is that you can try this software for FREE for 30-days.  Go to my website and Shop Now to download it.  Go today and you could also take advantage of the great FREE downloads and 50% off digital kits.  Enjoy!!

January Card Class

This Monday (January 24th) is the monthly card class hosted by my upline, Cheryl, and myself.  I finished my 3 cards for class last night and am excited to have them designed.  Some months I am better than others at getting them done before the class.  Maybe 2011 I will be more on the ball and get things done before the event rather than the day and night before the event.  Only time will tell!!  🙂

So here are the 3 samples.  I have a bit of a heart theme going on…and 4 hearts at that – probably because I am getting close to my due date on my 2nd child and then I will be a family of 4 hearts maybe that’s part of the inspiration for 4 hearts on 2 of the cards.  Anyway these cards are pretty simple and fun.

The 2 heart cards were inspired by a fellow SU! demonstrator’s work presented on her blog.  The Fall in Love stamp set featured on the “Love” card is part of a special bundle that ends on Monday, January 24th that includes the stamp set, a specialty paper pack, and some Free bitty buttons.  Be sure and check out that promotion so you don’t miss out on a great deal with some fun products.  The “Three Little Words” card features a stamp set that you can earn FREE during Sale-a-Bration which begins on Tuesday, January 25th!!

Hope you will join us for the fun night of stamping at Card Class night and that these samples provide a bit of inspiration for you!!

For the January 2011 plate I was super excited to use the Notably Ornate stamp set and the phrase “Imagine the Possibilities” which seemed so appropriate for the new year.  A new year holds so many possibilities and excitement for what’s to come!

The Lots of Love Letterpress gift sack was a great way to show off this new Big Shot crafting option.  You ink up the Letterpress and run paper through the Big Shot and get this wonderful collage of Love.  Add some other stamps and embellishments with the heart punch and the Filled with Love stamp set and you have a fun gift sack for a friend or loved one for their Valentine’s gift.  Plus I loved using Real Red and Concord Crush colors together.

The Pendant and Fresh-cut Notes are a fun little way to give a special person a quick note.  These notes come already cut with the image (pendant or flower) and you get 15 of them plus envelopes that although you can’t mail them you they would be great for a co-worker or friend to brighten their day and let them know that you are thinking of them or thanking them.  The Crumb Cake pendant note was inspired by the sample in the catalog (sometimes it’s so nice to get inspired by the catalog and use the sample right there with a few minor changes).  I love how each of these cards can be so different just by adding different papers and embellishments.  We added some beauty to the plain envelopes by running the Crumb Cake one through the Vintage embossing folder on the Big Shot to give it a design and texture.  On the Whisper White envelope we added designer series paper to the inside of the envelope as well as a stamped image on the outside (not shown).  These simple steps add a bit of punch and excitement to these envelopes.

Hope you enjoyed this inspiration!  Stayed tuned for more!!
